Fujian Vice Governor Guo Ningning Visits XMUM
Madam Guo Ningning, the Vice Governor of Fujian Province, visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 27 April 2019. Accompanied by XMUM President Prof. Wang Ruifang, Vice Governor Guo was briefed about the development of XMUM and toured around the campus.
Chinese Embassy and EMGS Representatives Give Public Talk at XMUM
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) hosted a public talk on consular protection and international student pass/visa organized by the Consular Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Malaysia. More than 250 students joined the event on 24 April 2019, including over 100 students from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Asia Pacific University (APU), and USCI University.
4,800 Students across Malaysia Participate in the 3rd Chen Jingrun's Cup Mathematics Competition
To promote students’ interests in mathematics and enhance their logical thinking skills, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has organized Chen Jingrun’s Cup Secondary School Mathematics Competition for three consecutive years since 2017. On 9 April 2019, the third Chen Jingrun’s Cup Mathematics Competition was held concurrently at 5 regions across Malaysia. The competition attracts more than 4,800 students from 61 schools and some independent entries, who competed in Senior, Intermediate and Junior categories.
XMUM Signs MOUs with 16 Traditional Chinese Medicine Institutions
On 23 April 2019, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) on university-enterprise cooperation with 16 Chinese medical hospitals and clinics to provide internships and employment opportunities for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) students. Aimed to achieve a win-win relationship among all parties, the event marked a new chapter in the constructive collaboration between XMUM and industry partners.
XMUM Starts New Semester with Its First Postgraduate Programme
Laughter, chatter and cheers could be heard throughout the campus on 13 & 14 April 2019. With over 900 young talents joined Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) for the April intake, the total enrollment of the university reached 4,600.
Dr. Ong Wee Jun Receives Materials Horizons 2018 Outstanding Paper Award
The Office of Research and Innovation congratulates Assistant Professor Dr. Ong Wee Jun from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for receiving the inaugural “Materials Horizons 2018 Outstanding Paper" award on 15 April 2019. The award was reviewed and chosen by the journal's Editorial and Advisory Board members based on the scientific finding presented and potential future impact. The current impact factor of Materials Horizons is 13.183, ranking 14th out of 285 journals in the field of materials science.
