First Campus Career Fair Held at XMUM
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) held its very first campus career fair themed “Soar to Success” on 9 May 2019. This event attracted 45 leading companies from a wide range of industries to participate. Over 300 employment opportunities and over 100 internship placements were provided to XMUM students.
XMUM Signs MOU with DHL Asia Pacific Shared Services Sdn Bhd
In an effort to enhance graduate employability, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on university-industry cooperation with DHL Asia Pacific Shared Services Sdn Bhd on 8 May 2019.The agreement, signed by Mr. Vincent Soh Chee Hong, Manager of Student Affairs (Career Services) of XMUM, and Ms. Sharmeel Kaur, Head of Human Resources, DHL Express, would provide internships and employment opportunities for students and establish a win-win partnership between both parties.
XMUM Team Won Bronze Medal at ICPC Malaysia Programming Contest
On Saturday 27 April, the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Malaysia al-Khawarizmi National Programming Contest 2019 took place at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Three teams from XMUM entered the contest and all of them ranked among the top seven, out of 36 competitors from across Malaysia.
Prof. Zheng Jin-Cheng Co-Authors Article in Nature Communications
The Office of Research and Innovation congratulates Prof. Dr. Zheng Jin-Cheng on his recent publication entitled “Anomalous metal segregation in lithium-rich material provides design rules for stable cathode in lithium-ion battery.” The paper was published online on 9 April 2019 (volume 10 and article number 1650) in Nature Communications, a bimonthly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Nature Publishing Group.

Skill, Experience and Environment, every entrepreneur should possess these three elements of innovation ability - this is the core idea shared by guest speaker Mr. Shang Pengbo to XMUM students during the Innovation Talk Series #6 on 17 April 2019. Mr. Shang Pengbo is a training expert in innovative entrepreneurship from China. He was invited to deliver a talk on “Interpretation and Preparation Strategy of College Students' Entrepreneurial Competition” at XMUM, while coaching different groups of students for “Internet+ competition.
Solar Car Competition Fuels Students' Passion for Energy Science
A solar car competition was held at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 27 March 2019, in which 6 groups of participants from New Energy and Sciences Programme (EGE) raced their mini solar-powered cars towards the finishing line.This competition is a part of Energy Innovation Laboratory, a course offered to third year EGE students in February semester. Under the guidance of course facilitators, students in 3-person groups were required to design and build solar-powered mini electric cars capable of travelling a short distance.
