Dr. Kim Yun Jin Receives RM180K Grant from ALPS Global Holdings Bhd for Innovative TCM and Biotechnology Research in Alzheimer’s Disease
Recently, Xiamen University Malaysia received funding totaling RM180,000 from ALPS Global Holdings Bhd for research aimed at combating Alzheimer’s disease. The grant will support a study exploring the combined effects of electroacupuncture and stem cell therapy on neurodegeneration and cognitive function in a rat model.The research seeks to investigate innovative approaches that integrate traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with stem cell therapy, potentially paving the way for new treatment options for individuals affected by cognitive decline.
TCM Interns Gain Hands-On Experience at Xiang'an Hospital's Life Sciences Pavilion
On November 1, 2024, 21 Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) interns from School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Xiamen University Malaysia visited the Human Life Sciences Pavilion at Xiang'an Hospital, affiliated with Xiamen University. The tour, organized by the hospital’s Department of Science and Education, offered the students a unique educational experience, deepening their understanding of human anatomy through the use of advanced life sciences technology.

School of Communication Co-Hosts the 4th International Conference on Media Science and Digital Communication in Bali
From 28 to 29 October 2024, the School of Communication at Xiamen University Malaysia co-hosted the 4th International Conference on Media Science and Digital Communication (MSDC) (https://themediasci.com) in Bali. The event, chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Wang Changsong, Dean of the School, marked the first time the conference was held in a hybrid format, enabling both in-person and virtual participation. More than 60 presenters from 14 countries attended, underscoring the event’s global reach.

With the theme “Enhancing Knowledge for Growth, Growing through Action,” the event aimed to enrich the interns’ cultural understanding and personal growth.
