XMUM Dance Troupe Performs at Malaysia's Chinese Character of the Year 2024 Unveiling Ceremony
On 15 December 2024, the XMUM Dance Troupe performed at the unveiling ceremony of the "Malaysia's Chinese Character of the Year 2024".President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong), Tan Sri T. C. Goh announced the Chinese character of 2024 is 升(sheng), which means "increase" or "rise". The character was chosen to reflect the public's hopes and concerns within Malaysian society.
TCM Students Visit Eu Yan Sang Pharmaceutical Factory
On 16 December 2024, 29 students from Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2021/02 and 2021/04 intake), along with two graduate students from Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine, visited the Eu Yan Sang Pharmaceutical Factory in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The visit was led by Dr. Chep Lee Lu Siang.
Guangdong Chinese Orchestra and XMUM Yanan Chinese Orchestra Club Engage in Chinese Folk Music Exchange
On 11 December 2024, the Guangdong Chinese Orchestra visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and conducted a series of activities focused on Chinese folk music exchange.The event was hosted by Ms. Huang Jianzhen, the Director of XMUM Art Troupe. She warmly welcomed the Guangdong Chinese Orchestra and briefly introduced the background of the XMUM Yanan Orchestra Club. The event was carried out in three parts:First, XMUM Yanan Orchestra Club performed two songs: “Transporting Goods to and from the Mountain” (挑山) and “Fisherman’s Song” (渔歌).
Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students Visit MIMOS Berhad
On 6 December 2024, a group of 27 students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, accompanied by their lecturers, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Wong Shen Yuong and Dr. Mohammadmahdi Ariannejad, visited MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia's national Applied Research and Development Centre. This visit offered the students an exceptional opportunity to gain practical exposure to the real-world applications of their academic studies.
