XMUM Academics Secure RM1.047 Million in GET 2026 Research Grants
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates seven academic staff members from Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on securing funding under the Exploratory and Transformative Research Grant (GET) 2026, awarded by Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).The seven projects have secured a total of RM1,047,298.30 in funding, covering research areas such as clean energy, resource recovery, marine environmental monitoring, food safety, climate resilience and sustainability education.

Dr. Nur Widad Roslan Wins Best Presenter Award at ICSAR 2026

XMUM Celebrates its Eighth Convocation and Tenth Anniversary
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) held its Eighth Convocation on 10 and 11 October 2026, celebrating the achievements of 1,677 graduands from 23 undergraduate and seven postgraduate programmes. More than 4,000 people, including family members and friends, university staff, and distinguished guests, attended the ceremonies over the weekend.

Lay Soo Yuen: A Gemologist Goes Back to University
At 5am, while her family was still asleep, Lay Soo Yuen was already getting ready to leave home. She would take the MRT, then a train, then change again before making her way to Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) for her 8am class.The journey took nearly three hours.She did it for four years.
