Dr. Ong Wee Jun Named World’s Top 2% Scientists
Associate Professor Dr. Ong Wee Jun from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University Malaysia has entered Stanford University’s list of “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020” for his outstanding citation impact.According to this list published in October 2020, Dr. Ong is among “2019 Single Year World’s Top 2% Scientists” and “Career-long World’s Top 2% Scientists”.In January 2021, his research achievements was reported by Sin Chew Daily, one of the most widely read newspaper in Malaysia.
Dr. Wang Changsong Wins Best Paper Award at International Communications Conference
The Research Management Center congratulates Associate Professor Dr. Wang Changsong on winning the Best Paper Award at the AICCON (ASPIKOM International Communications Conference 2021), for co-authoring the paper entitled “Elaboration Likelihood of Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard Digital Payment Brand Awareness”.
XMUM Students Shine in China-ASEAN Online Program on Data Science & Big Data Analysis
Four students and one lecturer from XMUM have completed the “China-ASEAN Online Program on Data Science and Big Data Analysis” held from 7 September to 7 December 2020. Three of the XMUM student participants - Haw Hui Xing Elouise, Leong Vivian (both from Mathematics and Applied Mathematics Programme), Chan Jin Wee (New Energy Science and Engineering Programme) - obtained award of outstanding performance.
23 XMUM Publications Selected as ESI Top 1% Highly Cited Papers
23 research papers published by XMUM faculty members have been recognized as Essential Science Indicators (ESI) Top Papers, among which 10 were picked as Hot Papers, according to the ESI database updated in January 2021.“Top Papers” are the top 1% of papers by field and publication year, while “Hot Papers” are the top 0.1% of papers cited in the current bimonthly period.
XMU Alumni Donates RMB 200,000 for XMUM Campus Landscape Enhancement
Xiamen University (XMU) alumni and former faculty member Prof. Lu Changyi donated RMB 200,000 (approximately USD 31,011) to Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) for its campus landscape enhancement.This is a present to XMU’s Centennial and a token of gratitude to my alma mater, said Prof. Lu.
Chemical Engineering Undergraduates Publish in SCI Tier 1 Journal as Co-First Authors
Research Management Center congratulates final year undergraduates (Ng Sue Faye and Michelle Lau Yu Ling) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Wee Jun, all from XMUM School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, on publishing a review article entitled “Engineering Layered Double Hydroxide-Based Photocatalysts Toward Artificial Photosynthesis: State-of-the-Art Progress and Prospects”, as co-first authors and corresponding author.Published on 22 December 2020 in Solar RRL (latest Impact Factor: 7.527), the work is an invited submission to the journal’s Special Issue Solar Photocatalysis.
