Department of Journalism and Advertising Co-hosts the 7th World Conference on Media and Mass Communication 2022

XMUM Department of Journalism and Advertising co-hosted the 7th World Conference on Media and Mass Communication (MEDCOM) 2022 on 5-7 May 2022. This online event contained 7 keynote speech sessions and 47 oral presentations by researchers and professionals from 35 countries. 

This is the third time that the Department of Journalism and Advertising has collaborated with the International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM) to organize this conference. 

Under the theme of "Problem, Opportunities and Perspectives”, this conference aimed to present an interdisciplinary platform to bring together media and mass-communication enthusiasts from all backgrounds to create engaging learning experiences, and facilitate the effective transfer of knowledge to advance careers while enriching the quality of research in the media and mass-communications sphere.

Associate Professor Dr. Wang Changsong, the head of the Department of Journalism and Advertising, represented XMUM to deliver a welcoming speech. Two academic staff members from XMUM Advertising Programme, Ms. Denise Elaine Fernandez and Mr. Surendev Singh A/L Ranjeet Singh, won the Overall Best Presenter Award for their research paper entitled “ConsumersPurchase Intention towards Green Packaging among Young Adults in Klang Valley, Malaysia”.
