Department of English Greets New Members with an “Ode to New Start”
On 19 September 2021, Department of English held an online party to welcome the new joiners, as well as to celebrate the coming of a new semester.Dr. Song Jiayang, HOD of Department of English and student representative Tan Bun Keat delivered speeches, giving wishes and advice to the fellow Department members, while lecturers introduced their courses to new students. This was followed by a series of performances and a Q&A session. At the climax of the party, Dr. Song Jiayang sang an old song “Blowing in the Wind”.

2nd XMUM Cup Physics Competition Successfully Held
The Second XMUM Cup Physics Competition for Secondary Schools was held on 8 September 2021, with 685 participants from 39 secondary schools across the country.The top five studentsare Ku Yu Cong from Chong Hwa Independent High School Kuala Lumpur, Harry Lau Jun Xian from Foon Yew High School Johor Bahru, How Yen Qi from Pay Fong Middle School Melacca, Samuel Koh Qi En from Sabah Chinese High School, and Yeo Guan Wei from Chung Hua Independent High School Klang.

ICT Undergraduates Excel in National Symposium on Human Computer Interaction
The Research Management Center congratulates four undergraduate students from XMUM School of Electrical and Computer Engineering for winning 1 Gold Award and 3 Bronze Award in Fusion 2021 UX-Hackathon, a competitive design event which was a part of the National Symposium on Human Computer Interaction.

Prof. Wang Hui-Qiong, Prof. Zheng Jin-Cheng & Team Publish in High Impact Journal
Research Management Centre congratulates Prof. Dr. Wang Hui-Qiong (Director of Research Management Center), Prof. Dr. Zheng Jin-Cheng (Director of Innovation Center) and their research team for the recent publication of "Determination of the embedded electronic states at nanoscale interface via surface-sensitive photoemission spectroscopy" in Light: Science and Application, a journal with a 2-year impact factor of 17.782 and a 5-year impact factor of 16.996.

CME Master Student Publishes Review Article in ACS Applied Polymer Materials
The Research Management Center congratulates Lau Siew Kei, a master’s student from XMUM School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, for publishing a review paper in ACS Applied Polymer Materials as the first author.Entitled “Recent Progress of Zwitterionic Materials as Antifouling Membranes for Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration, and Reverse Osmosis”, this article was published under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yong Wai Fen, the paper’s corresponding author.
