MIMOS, Xiamen University China, and Xiamen University Malaysia Forge Pioneering Partnership in Semiconductor Technology
In a strategic move designed to transform the landscape of semiconductor technology, MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia's national R&D centre, signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Xiamen University China and Xiamen University Malaysia on 26 April 2024.H.E. Chang Lih Kang, Malaysia’s Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, and H.E. Yin Hejun, Minister of Science and Technology of China, witnessed the ceremony.

PhD Student Awarded IChemE Andrew Legacy Bursary 2024 for Catalysis Summer School
Ooi Khim May, a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University Malaysia, has been awarded the prestigious Andrew Legacy Bursary for the year 2024 session.This bursary allows up to 20 PhD, EngD or MSc students to attend the week-long summer school, “Catalysis: Fundamentals and Practice”, which will be held at the University of Liverpool from 24 to 28 June 2024. Offered by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) under the Andrew Legacy Scheme, this bursary aims to support researchers working on projects related to heterogeneous catalysis.

The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Lau Hui Shen, Angelica Eugenia, Weng Ying and Prof. Ir. Dr. Yong Wai Fen from the Department of Chemical Engineering, School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for the recent review article published in Progress in Materials Science, an SCI Q1 journal with the latest impact factor of 37.4, ranking as a top journal in Material Science category.

The Conference on Malaysian Chinese Education and Language Inheritance was successfully concluded at Xiamen University Malaysia on April 20, 2024.Hosted by Department of Chinese Studies, Xiamen University Malaysia, this event was sponsored by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Malaysia and supported by the National Language Committee of China’s Overseas Chinese Language Research Center and Beijing Normal University’s Global Chinese Comparative Studies Center.
