Vice-President of the University of Southampton Visits XMUM
Prof. Colin Grant, Vice-President (International) of the University of Southampton, UK, visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 6 March 2018. Prof. Grant was accompanied by Prof. Rebecca Taylor, Southampton’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor of ASEAN, and his senior Malaysia advisor, Prof. Dato’ Navaratnam.XMUM Assistant President Dr. Zhang Ying warmly welcomed the Southampton delegation on behalf of the university. Ms. Li Xiaowen, PA to President, then briefed the delegation on the current development progress of XMUM.

A Tribute to Tan Kah Kee by Xiamen University: XMU Alumni Entrepreneurs and Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra Visit XMUM
Xiamen Alumni Association Entrepreneur Branch of Xiamen University (XMU) and Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra paid a visit to Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 2 March 2018, and treated XMUM students and staff to a feast of music – a concert titled “A Tribute to Tan Kah Kee by Xiamen University”.

XMUM-HWUM Badminton Friendly Match
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) Badminton Club got off to an eventful 2018 with the organization of a friendly badminton tournament against players from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM). Held on the evening of Jan 29, 2018, this friendly provided a platform for the 27 players from both universities to interact and improve their skills. This opportunity proved invaluable in light of the upcoming Sukan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (SUKIPT) championship.

Consul General Visits XMUM before Assuming Office in Guangzhou
Mr. Beh Ching Chye, the incoming Consul General at Malaysian Consulate General in Guangzhou, China, visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 11 January 2018. Mr. Beh will start his tenure in Guangzhou later this month.XMUM President Wang Ruifang expressed the university’s deep appreciation for the help it has received from Malaysian Consulate General in Guangzhou during the past few years. He hoped that XMUM will continue to receive strong support from the consulate.

China’s New Ambassador to Malaysia Visits XMUM
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) is a monument in history, and it has a really bright future, said China's new ambassador to Malaysia Bai Tian on Jan 9, 2018.Ambassador Bai Tian made the remark during a meeting with Prof. Wang Ruifang, the President of Xiamen University Malaysia. This is less than 2 months after Ambassador Bai assumed his position in last November.
