SOC Students Experience Summer Camp at Xiamen University
From 7 to 18 September 2026, 20 students from the School of Communication (SOC), Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), participated in a two-week summer camp at Xiamen University (XMU)’s main campus in Siming District, Xiamen, China.Hosted by XMU School of Journalism and Communication, XMU, the programme included academic sessions, creative activities, campus visits and cultural experiences. The students also had opportunities to interact with XMU students and academic staff and experience university life at the main campus.

XMUM PhD Candidate Wins Best Presenter Award at ICICET 2026
Malvin, a PhD candidate at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and researcher at the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Technologies for Agricultural Advancement and a Zero-Waste Economy (STARGAZE), received the Best Presenter Award at the 3rd International Conference on Innovation in Chemical Engineering and Technology 2026 (ICICET 2026).Best Presenter Award certificate presented to Malvin at ICICET 2026.

XMUM Student Wins Third Prize at China National University Computer System Capability Competition
Liu Zhen, a third-year undergraduate student in Artificial Intelligence at the School of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), won the National Third Prize in the Compiler Implementation Track (RISC-V) at the 2026 China National University Student Computer System Capability Competition – Compiler System Design Contest.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Jian Ping Receives 2026 Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians Award
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr Tan Jian Ping, Director of the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Technologies for Agricultural Advancement and a Zero-Waste Economy (STARGAZE) from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), on being conferred the 2026 Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians (TOYM) Award for Scientific and Technological Development by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malaysia.

XMUM Wins Gold and Bronze at SUKIPT 2026
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) secured one gold and one bronze medal at the 30th SUKIPT Higher Education Institution Games, held from 28 August to 6 September 2026 at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.The university sent a contingent of 54 student-athletes and six delegation officers to compete in nine sports: volleyball, basketball, track and field, tennis, table tennis, taekwondo, badminton, swimming and chess. The 2026 games marked the XMUM's fourth participation in SUKIPT since 2018.
