Prof. Wang Xiaomei & Team Publish in SSCI Q1 Journal, Exploring the Revival of Baba Culture from a Linguistic Perspective
Prof. Wang Xiaomei, Head of Chinese Studies has recently published a paper entitled “The revival of Baba culture through linguistic landscape in Malacca, Malaysia” on Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development, an SSCI Q1 journal covering the sociology and social psychology of language.Dr. Koh Chong Wah and postgraduate students Choo Wan Yein and Leong Siw Yau also participated in the research.

Since the end of 2022, Traditional Chinese Medicine programme of Xiamen University Malaysia has resumed the practical training for their final-year students in Xiamen, China, which had been temporiraly halted during the pandemic.Tang Kit Whye, a TCM undergraduate student of 2016/02 intake, shared his internship experience at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University and Xiamen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

NESE Master Students Unveil How Dielectric and Piezoelectric Boost Energy Generation in Triboelectric Nanogenerators
Triboelectric Nanogenerators (TENGs) have emerged as a promising and innovative technology to generate electricity from friction, with the advantage of low cost and high output voltage. Recently, a group of researchers from Xiamen University Malaysia revealed the untapped potential of TENGs by harnessing dielectric and piezoelectric properties of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymers.

XMUM's Inaugural Engineering Week Ignites Students' Passion for Engineering
The 1st Engineering Week of Xiamen University Malaysia was successfully closed on 3 June 2023, bringing together faculty, staff, and students with a passion for engineering to partake in a variety of engaging engineering events. In collaboration with different professional bodies, clubs, societies, and student bodies, this week-long event established a strong foundation for students to show their appreciation and raise the awareness of engineering in XMUM community.

The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Michelle Lum Mei Xue, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lai Sin Yuan, Dr. Koh Mei Kee, and Kyle Sebastian Mulya from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for publishing an article entitled Sulfur dioxide catalytic reduction for environmental sustainability and circular economy: A review in an SCI Q1 journal, Process Safety and Environmental Protection, with the latest impact factor of 7.926.
