Planting a Tree at XMUM Library
If you have visited the 2nd floor of XMUM Library for the past few days, you may have noticed that a “tree” is growing on the wall.On 6 October 2023, a sharing session for the “Knowledge Tree” project, the first-ever Artist-in-Residence project at Xiamen University Malaysia, was held at A3 Library.

Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) held its Fifth Convocation on 23 and 24 September for its graduating class of 2023. More than 2,500 graduands, their family members and friends, university staff, and distinguished guests attended the ceremonies during the weekend.

XMU Alumnus Mr. Yao Ming Donates 2 Coaches, 2 Coaster Buses & 1 MPV to XMUM
On 4 October 2023, the Handover Ceremony for Yaoming Group’s donation to Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) was held in front of the A3 Library. On behalf of the university, XMUM President Prof. Wang Ruifang received the donation of 2 coaches, 2 coaster buses and 1 MPV from Mr. Yao Ming, Xiamen University (XMU) Class of 1985 Alumnus. Prof. Zhu Chongshi, XMU President from 2003 to 2017, and Mr. Zeng Guobin, Secretary-general of XMU Education Development Foundation, witnessed the handover.
XMUM Team Wins Bronze Award at International Innovation and Invention Competition 2023
The School of Computing and Data Science congratulate Dr. Burra Venkata Durga Kumar, Dr. Teh Jia Yew, Dr. Ili Farhana Biti Md Mahtar, Ng Wei Chen and Loh Fu Quan for winning the Bronze Award at Borneo International Innovation and Invention Competition (BIIIC) 2023.
An IT Veteran's Fresh Start in Chinese Studies at XMUM
After 36 years of working in IT industry, in November 2020, 59-year-old Yap Siew Wah submitted his application to the MA in Chinese Studies at Xiamen University of Malaysia, once again embarking on his journey of learning.
