CAMS Students Participate in NUS Science Summer Institute 2025
Three students from the China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences (CAMS), Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) - Chow Shi Yin, Ong Yi Xiang, and Vivian Foong Chee Yan - took part in the NUS Science Summer Institute (SSI) 2025, held from 8 to 17 July at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Prof. Ong Wee Jun and Team Publish in Advanced Functional Materials
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Lim Ke Ming, Valerine, and Prof. Dr. Ong Wee Jun from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering and the Center of Excellence for NaNo Energy & Catalysis Technology (CONNECT) on their recent publication in Advanced Functional Materials, a peer-reviewed SCI Q1 journal published by Wiley, with a current impact factor of 19.0. According to Clarivate (Web of Science), the journal ranks in the top 4% in the multidisciplinary chemistry category.
Training Collaboration Launched Between Alibaba Cloud (Malaysia) and XMUM
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alibaba Cloud (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., marking the beginning of a new collaboration aimed at advancing digital training and education. The agreement was formalised during the Alibaba Cloud Global Summit 2025 in Singapore.

Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) was invited to participate in a roundtable discussion hosted by Meta Reality Labs, Asia Pacific, along with its partners. The event, held on 24 July 2025 at the Connexion Conference & Event Centre (CCEC), brought together representatives from Meta, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the Ministry of Education (MOE), and other stakeholders from government, academia, and industry to discuss the role of immersive technologies in education and workforce development.
