Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ricardo Baba from School of Economics and Management, Xiamen University Malaysia, was invited to deliver a public talk to students from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering regarding entrepreneurship, on 25 May 2023. 

With the title “Entrepreneurship in Action: Opportunities Creation and Product Commercialization”, the talk aimed to provide students with valuable insights into entrepreneurial concepts, characteristics of entrepreneurs, business funding, product commercialization, as well as how to prepare an effective business plan.

During the talk, Dr. Baba shared his personal experience in entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of seizing opportunities and creating value. Students were captivated by the real-world examples which ignited their entrepreneurial spirit.

An expert in financial services, management, international business and entrepreneurship, Dr. Ricardo has an expertise in banking of 20 years and worked with the academia for 23 years. Before joining XMUM, he has worked with Curtin University Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Malaysia Sabah and Brunei University of Technology respectively.
