Dr. Yang Chia Yen Recognised as 2025 Reviewer of the Year by the Journal of Consumer Behaviour
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Asst. Prof. Dr. Yang Chia Yen from the School of Economics and Management for being awarded the 2025 Reviewer of the Year by the Journal of Consumer Behaviour (JCB). The selection is based on a systematic appraisal of key performance metrics and a multi-stage review by the editorial leadership team.
JCB is a SSCI Q1 journal with the latest impact factor of 7.0 and is ranked A in the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) Journal Quality List. By publishing peer-reviewed theoretical and empirical studies, the JCB advances the academic disciplines of consumer behaviour and consumer consumption.
Dr. Yang has contributed as a reviewer for JCB since September 2022. Commenting on the recognition, she said, “This recognition reminds us that constructive, high-quality reviews are instrumental in advancing knowledge and supporting the academic community.”
“The peer-review process does not just help authors improve their work; it is a two-way process that also allows reviewers to stay updated on the latest advancements in knowledge,” she further commented.

Dr. Yang Chia Yen obtained her PhD in Marketing from Monash University. She is an Assistant Professor and the Head of Programme for the Hospitality Management (HMT) at the School of Economics and Management, Xiamen University Malaysia. Her expertise centres on consumer behaviour, services marketing, sustainable marketing, and digital business. She recently received a competitive research grant from The Sumitomo Foundation, Japan to study Japanese cultural influence.
