Under the theme "Media and Communication in a World Reimagined", MSDC 2025 explored the transformative impact of digital innovation and global shifts on the ways we connect, inform, and inspire. In a rapidly evolving media landscape, new ideological trends and persistent inequalities in access to social, economic, and communicative resources continue to challenge our understanding of truth, knowledge, and power. The conference encouraged participants to critically examine what it means to be informed, connected, and responsible in an era of hyper-mediated communication.

The 5th MSDC attracted over 70 presenters across physical and virtual platforms, featuring three keynote speakers, seven plenary speakers, one guest speaker, and two workshop speakers. The conference provided a dynamic platform for scholars, practitioners, and students to engage in dialogue, share research insights, and discuss innovative approaches to media and communication studies.

Academics from the School of Communication, Dr. Aksar Iffat Ali and Mr. Surendev Singh A/L Ranjeet Singh, were recognized for their outstanding oral presentations, receiving the Sessional Best Presenter Awards. MSDC 2025 reaffirmed the School of Communication’s commitment to advancing research and fostering international collaboration in media and communication, strengthening its position as a leading hub for academic excellence in the field.
