On 18 May 2026, 40 Journalism students from 2025/09 intake participated in "China Hunan Film – 2026 Malaysia Screening Week" – a cultural exchange and heritage activity under the guidance of their lecturers. The event, which highlighted traditional culture and community engagement, provided students with an opportunity to experience journalism beyond the classroom. 

During the activity, students not only took part as participants, but also approached the event from the perspective of aspiring journalists. By applying the professional knowledge and reporting skills learned in courses such as Reporting and Writing, students transformed the experience into a hands-on journalistic practice. 

Following the event, the students independently produced reports using their own narrative styles and journalistic approaches. Drawing from their diverse identities, cultural backgrounds, and personal interpretations, they explored the event through multiple perspectives, demonstrating both critical thinking and cross-cultural awareness in their reporting.
