Zambia’s Minister of General Education Visits XMUM
His Honourable David Mabumba, Zambia’s Minister of General Education, visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 8 August 2019. Accompanied by XMUM President Prof. Wang Ruifang, His Honourable was briefed about the development of XMUM and toured around the campus.During the visit, His Honourable David Mabumba inspected XMUM’s IT hub as well as several teaching and research laboratories of XMUM’s China-ASEAN College of Marine Science. He also met with representatives of Zambian students currently studying at XMUM and kindly inquired about their lives here at the university.

Deputy Dean of XMU College of Humanities Visits XMUM
On 25 July 2019, Prof. Li Xiaohong, Deputy Dean of College of Humanities, Xiamen University (XMU) paid a visit to XMUM Department of Chinese Studies. Accompanied by Head of Department Prof. Wang Xiaomei, Prof. Li had a fruitful interaction with staff and students of the Chinese Studies Programme. Prof. Li begun by introducing the founding story of XMUM and Department of Chinese Studies, then shared her personal experiences of her three visits to the Malaysian campus. First XMUM Mathematics Competition Successfully Held
With the purposes of promoting students’ interests in mathematics and training more experts in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) for Malaysia, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has organized the first XMUM Mathematics Competition. This competition serves as a key platform to uncover students’ mathematical talents and encourage them to become mathematicians in the future.Held on 23 June 2019, the competition have attracted 258 students from 24 higher education institutions and high schools.

Newcastle University Business School Signs MoA with XMUM
Newcastle University Business School (NUBS) signed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 24 July 2019 in the presence of NUBS Director, Prof. Sharon Mavin and XMUM Assistant President, Associate Professor Dr. Zhang Ying. The signing ceremony was witness by NUBS team as well as the Dean and Assistant Dean of XMUM School of Economic and Management.

Cardiff University Expands MoA with XMUM
On 18 July 2019, Cardiff University signed the supplemental MoA with Xiamen University Malaysia to broaden the partnership between the two universities, with special focus on providing postgraduate pathways for XMUM students.According to this agreement, XMUM students can enjoy the following privileges:

Five XMUM Students Attend the Future Aircraft Innovation Competition
On July 20 2019, the finals of the 5th Flying Shark Cup National Graduate Future Aircraft Innovation Competition was held at Xiang'an Campus of Xiamen University. Five XMUM students were invited by Prof. You Yancheng, the Executive Dean of the School of Aerospace Engineering, Xiamen University to observe the competition. The five students are Wu Yunze (Computer Science and Technology), Nie Lan (Digital Media Technology), Ren Xin (Software Engineering), Ye Xiaofeng and Lin Yuhan (both from Electrical and Electronic Engineering).
