National University of Singapore Vice President Gives a Public Talk at XMUM
On 27 March 2019, Prof. Dr. Andrew Wee, Vice President (University and Global Relations) of National University of Singapore (NUS), visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and delivered a public talk.
XMUM “Wows” Students with the Newly Launched MBA Programme
An MBA Preview session was held at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on March 23, 2019 for prospective students to gain a better understanding of the newly launched programme.This MBA programme, which is the first post-graduate programme provided by XMUM, is set to welcome its pioneer batch of students in April 2019.“We want to ‘wow’ you (students) with the university, the courses and the lectures,” said Dr. Tee Keng Kok, the Director of XMUM MBA Centre.
Australian National University and XMUM Sign Admission Pathway Agreement
An Admission Pathway Agreement was signed between Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and Australian National University (ANU) on 13 March 2019, which allows XMUM students to enter Master of International Management (MiM) programme at ANU with a few privileges. Agreements pertaining to programmes in the fields of Finance and Accounting will also be signed in the future.ANU is a national research university located in Canberra, capital of Australia. According to the QS World University Rankings 2019, it ranks #1 in Australia and Oceania, #24 among universities all over the world.
XMUM Faculty Member Publishes in Tier-1 SCI Journal of Electrochemistry
The Office of Research and Innovation congratulates Prof. Dr. Zheng Jin-Cheng on his role as joint corresponding author of a paper entitled “Porous carbon anchored titanium carbonitride for high-performance supercapacitor.” The paper was published on 1 March 2019 (Page 138-145, Volume 304) in Electrochimica Acta, the official journal of the International Society of Electrochemistry. Prof. Zheng co-authored the paper with 8 other scientists affiliated with Shanghai University, Xiamen University (China), and Xiamen University Malaysia. This project was led by Assoc. Prof. Yan Hao, Assoc.

Xiamen Buddy System Helps International Students Feel at Home
Some 80 international students from over 20 countries gathered for a sharing session on 7 March 2019, thanks to the Xiamen Buddy System (XBS), an organization initiated by Student Recruitment Office of Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM).This first-ever XBS gathering aims to promote a vibrant exchange of ideas and a meaningful sharing of experiences, as well as to develop a buddy system where seniors will take the hands of freshmen as they navigate their way through an unfamiliar environment, and help them ready themselves for the new but exciting journey in a foreign land.
