XMUM MBA Programme Gains Full Accreditation from MQA
The MBA Programme of Xiamen has gained full accreditation from Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) after a 2-day visit from 8 to 9 October 2020.Two expert panellists - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Kadir Othman (UITM) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maniam Kaliannan (University of Nottingham Malaysia) - as well as MQA’s officer Ms. Nurul Najmi Alias, carefully examined seven areas of the programme and spoke highly of its development.

The Research Management Center congratulates Associate Professor Dr. Ong Wee Jun from XMUM School of Energy and Chemical Engineering on his recent accomplishment of being highlighted and featured in the 2020 Young Chemists of Chemistry – A European Journal, a prestigious journal under Wiley-VCH on behalf of Chemistry Europe with a latest impact factor of 4.857. The Research Management Center congratulates Prof. Wang Xiaomei, Head of Chinese Studies, on her recent publication entitled ‘The restructuring of a speech community on a foreign land: The Tianjiners in Sabah, Malaysia’ in Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development on 14 October 2020.

XMUM Undergraduate Co-authors Research Article in SCI Tier-1 Journal
The Research Management Center congratulates Chen Weichen, an undergraduate student from XMUM New Energy Science and Engineering (NESE) programme on co-authoring a paper entitled “Electrospinning-Based Strategies for Battery Materials” on 24 June 2020 in Advanced Energy Materials, a peer-reviewed SCI Tier-1 journal with an impact factor of 25.25. The paper is a collaboration with researchers from Fujian Normal University, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Sydney.

Dr. Andrew Ng Kay Lup Receives ACYLS 2020 Award
The Office of Research Management congratulates Dr. Andrew Ng Kay Lup from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for being chosen as the recipient of the ASEAN China Young Leaders Scholarship (ACYLS) 2020 Award.The ACYLS award is an initiative funded by the Chinese government to honour researchers and scientists for their commendable contributions to ASEAN member states. Each year, 20 professionals or researchers from ASEAN member states will be honoured by the award, in order to promote academic and vocational exchanges between China and ASEAN.

Chinese Studies Student Publishes a Book on her XMUM Life
Zhang Lirou, a third-year Chinese Studies student from Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), has recently published a book entitled I’m at XMUM: A Communication with Father. Written in the form of letters between Zhang Lirou and her father, this book records her three-year study and life at XMUM. The preface was written by Prof. Wang Xiaomei, Head of the Department of Chinese Studies.
