XMUM Opens Arms to Over 550 New Students from China
557 students from China will start their college life at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 1 October 2018.This is the largest intake of Chinese students since the university’s inception.The first batch of 100 students has reached the campus on 9 & 10 September, with 457 more to arrive by the end of this month. University staff and student volunteers take turns to pick up every new student at the airport to guide them through the immigration process and send them to the campus.
20 Outstanding XMUM Students Receive 2017 Chinese Ambassador Scholarship
The Award Ceremony of 2017 Chinese Ambassador Scholarship was held at XMUM on 8 August 2018. 20 outstanding XMUM students proudly received the scholarship award certificates from H.E. Bai Tian, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia.
Newcastle University (UK) Signs MOU with XMUM
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Newcastle University and Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) recently. Newcastle University is a member of the the elite Russell Group of research-intensive universities and is ranked 141 in the world by QS. It won the Teaching Excellence Framework Gold Award in 2017 and has been ranked 7th for student experience by the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey for seven years in a row.
Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand) signs MOU with XMUM
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand (VUW) and Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) in July 2018. Students completing their degree at XMUM can now add VUW to their list of potential destinations for postgraduate studies.
XMUM Signs MOU with Cardiff University
Ranked 1st in Wales & 22nd among the 76 universities in the United Kingdom, and belonged to the elite Russell Group of research-intensive universities, Cardiff University recently signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Xiamen University Malaysia.The objectives of the MoU are to facilitate students and faculties mobility, academic programmes development, joint research projects, and activities mutually beneficial to XMUM and Cardiff University.
XMUM President Attends the 11th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week
XMUM President, Prof. Wang Ruifang, attended the 11th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) held in Guiyang, China on 26 & 27 July 2018. The theme of this year’s CAECW is “A New Beginning for Educational Cooperation, a New Future for Cultural Exchange”.During the CAECW, President Wang gave a keynote speech at the Guizhou-ASEAN Cross-Border Pedagogy Forums on Enhancement of Educational Fusion and Collaboration. Drawing from the experience of establishing and developing XMUM, President Wang shared his insights on “Overseas Campus and Education Resources Integration”.
