Fujian Vice Governor Guo Ningning Visits XMUM
Madam Guo Ningning, the Vice Governor of Fujian Province, visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 27 April 2019. Accompanied by XMUM President Prof. Wang Ruifang, Vice Governor Guo was briefed about the development of XMUM and toured around the campus.
During the visit, Vice Governor Guo inspected several teaching and research laboratories of XMUM’s China-ASEAN College of Marine Science, an institute which integrates education, scientific research, training and policy consultation and is supported by a funding of RMB 96 million from China-ASEAN Maritime Cooperation Fund. She also met with XMUM staff and student representatives and kindly inquired about their lives here at the university.
Vice Governor Guo was delightfully impressed by the achievements of XMUM. She said that in view of its extraordinary speed of development and high starting point, she has great confidence in the university's future.
Prof. Wang Ruifang expressed his gratitude to the strong support provided by Fujian government to the university. He said that as a branch campus of Xiamen University, XMUM has deep roots in Fujian province. He was confident that XMUM would nurture high-quality talents with global outlook and cross-cultural communication skills, helping to build bridges of friendship among Fujian and countries of Southeast Asia.
