From 4 to 9 August 2025, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) organized its annual China Study Trip, visiting Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

The trip, which involved 35 participants, including MBA students, alumni, faculty, and staff, was designed to give attendees a firsthand look at the business and innovation landscapes of the Greater Bay Area (GBA), a region known for its economic and technological influence.

In Shenzhen, the delegation explored the city's role in driving innovation and economic development. At the Qianhai Exhibition Hall, participants learned about Shenzhen's urban planning and policies aimed at promoting cross-border cooperation. The delegation then travelled to Hong Kong, where the focus shifted to global business and finance. At Maybank Hong Kong, participants engaged with the CEO and Heads of Department in a networking session, discussing topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), cross-border financing, and sustainability.

The cultural side of the trip was highlighted by a visit to the ASEAN Film Festival at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, where the Malaysian film Gold was screened.
