Chinese Studies Students Explore the History and Culture of Kuala Lumpur
On 30 November 2024, 47 students from the Department of Chinese Studies at Xiamen University Malaysia participated in an educational study tour to explore the cultural and historical landmarks of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's vibrant capital. Led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Koh Chong Wah, the tour provided the students with an in-depth understanding of the significant contributions of the Chinese community to the city's development and cultural heritage.

Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with SEED Tech Sdn. Bhd., launching a long-term industry-academia strategic partnership to advance sustainable technologies and materials.This collaboration aims to address pressing global challenges including climate change, fossil fuel depletion, and waste accumulation.
Dr. Tan Jian Ping & Team Publish in International Journal of Hydrogen Energy
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Sim Xue Yan and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tan Jian Ping from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for their recent publication in International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, a SCI Q1 journal with an impact factor of 8.1.This research was conducted in collaboration with Dr. Yeap Swee Keong and Dr. Hui Yew Woh from the China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences, Xiamen University Malaysia, as well as Dr. Mong Guo Ren, Dr. Woon Kok Sin, and Dr. Tan Peng Chee from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering.
Exchange Students Explore TCM Heritage and Innovation in Malaysia
From 14 to 15 November 2024, the XMUM School of Traditional Chinese Medicine hosted a two-day educational and cultural program for exchange students from Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The initiative provided an in-depth exploration of the historical legacy and modern innovations of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Malaysia.

Prof. Ong Wee Jun Receives Malaysia Scopus Research Excellence Award 2024
Prof. Ong Wee Jun, the Assistant Dean of the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering and the Director of the Center of Excellence for Nano Energy & Catalysis Technology (CONNECT) at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), has received Malaysia Scopus Research Excellence Award 2024 in the "Ground-breaking Contributions" category in recognition of his significant impact on advancing scientific understanding in Malaysia.
