Malvin, a master’s student in Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), was awarded the Gold Medal by the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) for Outstanding Academic Achievement. The award was presented at the 66th IEM Annual Dinner and Awards Night, held on 19 April 2025. YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the Minister of Works, witnessed the ceremony.

XMUM Research Project Among 19 Global Winners of 2025 Frontiers Planet Prize
A research project from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has been named Malaysia's National Champion in the 2025 Frontiers Planet Prize, under the category of Climate Change Mitigation and Carbon Sequestration.The Frontiers Planet Prize is one of the world’s leading science competitions, recognizing research with the highest potential to tackle the planetary crisis. In its 2025 edition, the competition spotlighted only 19 breakthrough projects from around the globe.
