On 18 July 2019, Cardiff University signed the supplemental MoA with Xiamen University Malaysia to broaden the partnership between the two universities, with special focus on providing postgraduate pathways for XMUM students.

According to this agreement, XMUM students can enjoy the following privileges:

1. 20% rebate for students applying for Masters programme related to Arts, Business, Sciences and Engineering at Cardiff University.
2. Payment of tuition fees can be made by instalment.
3. English proficiency requirement is exempted except:
   1. for students who is applying to Masters programme which requires a score of band 7 and above
   2. for students whose undergraduate programme is not fully taught in English
