Students Gain Insights into Postgraduate and Global Study Opportunities

The Global Engagement and Partnerships Office conducted an information session on 15 May 2026 for students, featuring speakers Ms. Giselle Kong. The event attracted students who were interested in learning more about postgraduate progression, study abroad opportunities, and exchange programmes.

During the session, students were introduced to XMUM's extensive network of more than 40 partner universities worldwide, together with information on postgraduate progression pathways, including important deadlines, intake periods, university rankings, scholarships, available programmes, and application processes. Various opportunities for further studies at partner universities were highlighted.

The speakers shared information on study abroad opportunities at prestigious institutions such as the University of Birmingham, Queen Mary University of London, and the University of Strathclyde, with exclusive XMUM student discounts offered.

In addition, exchange programmes with HSE University and Almaty Management University were introduced to students interested in gaining international academic exposure. This September, XMUM will be sending its first batch of students to HSE University for the exchange programme, marking an important step in strengthening international academic collaboration and student mobility opportunities.

A special sharing was delivered by Ms. Zeng Qiuying, a Year 2 English major student, who talked about her personal experience of studying at the University of Strathclyde. She spoke about academic experience, language and learning support, campus life, challenges of adapting to a new environment, as well as experiencing different cultures and food. She also shared insights on the application process and emphasized that studying abroad greatly improved her English communication skills.
