Durham University Engages XMUM Students with Academic Seminar and Information Session
Durham University, one of the UK's most prestigious institutions, visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) for a day of academic exchange and student engagement.
The delegation, led by Prof. Dr. He Xinming, Director of Internationalisation at Durham's Business School, and Ms. Lim Ching Mei, Regional Director (Partnerships) South East Asia at Durham University, held a morning meeting with XMUM leadership to explore future collaboration. This was followed by an academic seminar titled "Digital Capital and Export Performance", delivered by Prof. He. The session sparked lively discussions and intellectual exchanges between the professor and attending faculty and students.
In the afternoon, a public information session was held at the A3-618 Lecture Hall, attracting nearly 100 students. Prof. He Xinming, himself an alumnus of Xiamen University, shared insights into Durham's historic college system, admission requirements, scholarships, and study opportunities.
The event highlighted the growing international partnerships of XMUM and provided students with a valuable platform to engage directly with a world-leading university. Durham University, founded in 1832, is ranked among the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings and was named UK's University of the Year for 2026 by The Times.
