TCM Students Contribute to Community Health Efforts in Seremban
Twenty-four students from the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), took part in the Sin Chew Carnival and the 112th Anniversary Charity Sale on 13 July 2025, held at Seremban Chung Hua High School.
The event, organised in collaboration with the Negeri Sembilan Chinese Physicians' & Druggist's Association, aimed to promote public health awareness through traditional Chinese medicine.
Under the supervision of Mr. Too Seng Hee and Ms. Kho Jia Jia, the students supported registration processes, observed consultations conducted by licensed TCM practitioners, and assisted in selected therapies, including acupuncture, Tuina, GuaSha, and auricular therapy. They also helped prepare and dispense Chinese herbal medicine under professional guidance.

Reflecting on the experience, year-4 student Lim Jie Yi shared: "This experience reminded me why I chose to study TCM - it's not just about memorising herbs, but about serving the community with empathy and skill."
By observing clinical procedures and supporting basic tasks in a real-world setting, students gained practical insight into how traditional Chinese medicine is applied in community health services.
