XMUM Undergraduate Student Publishes on Antenna Technology for Future Wireless Communication

The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates researchers from School of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and its S.M.A.R.T. Nexus Centre of Excellence on their recent publication in Scientific Reports, an SCIE Q1 journal published by Nature Portfolio with the latest impact factor of 4.9.

Wang Zihe, a second-year undergraduate student from XMUM Electrical and Electronics Engineering programme, serves as the first author of the article.

Titled “A 2 to 16 GHz Dual Polarized End Fire ETS Array with Corrugated Edges for Unified ECC Evaluation Framework”, the research presents a reusable evaluation framework for broadband dual-linearly polarized multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) antenna arrays.

Unlike conventional approaches that estimate ECC only from S-parameters, the study primarily calculates ECC using complete three-dimensional radiation patterns, providing a more comprehensive assessment of MIMO performance. The findings provide practical guidance for the design of broadband MIMO antenna arrays and may support future applications in 6G wireless communication and integrated sensing and communication systems.
