Research Management Center congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Wee Jun from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for participating in the 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau, Germany on behalf of Malaysia and Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). Dr. Ong was nominated and recommended by the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings (Germany) and Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), as one of the four representatives from Malaysia.

Three CME Students Win Silver Medal at 5th Undergraduate Research Competition & Exhibition

On 2 October 2019, three final-year students from XMUM Chemical Engineering (CME) Programme won silver medal at the 5th Undergraduate Research Competition & Exhibition (URCE 2019). The event was organized by Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and held at Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Malacca. The three students - Zhang Yang, Xu Yitao and Lin Yanze - are currently conducting research project under the supervision of Dr. Kua Yin Leng, lecturer of XMUM CME Programme.

XMUM IChemE Student Chapter Organizes its First Learning Camp

A 3-day learning camp has been successfully organized by XMUM IChemE Student Chapter from 17 to 19 September 2019, right before the start of the new semester. A total of 60 undergraduate students participated in the event.XMUM IChemE Student Chapter is the XMUM branch of the Institution of Chemcial Enginnners (IChemE), a multi-national professional engineering body based in UK.To improve students’ teamwork ability and communication skills, students were asked to form their own teams in the first day of the event.

XMUM Champions the Green Technovation Challenge 2019

The Green Technovation Challenge 2019 held on 18 September saw a team of XMUM School of Energy and Chemical Engineering students raised as the champion. Comprised of 5 students from New Energy Science and Technology Programme (Douglas Yeo Jing Zhi, Hoy Zheng Xuan, Lim Jin Yang, Phuang Zhen Lim and Tan Khai Yang), the team named TITAN defeated 13 teams from 8 other universities and won the 1st prize in the challenge.They received a prize of RM5,000 while UKM and Quest University achieved 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Dr. Ng Kim Hoong and XMUM Students Publish in SCI Tier-1 Journal

Research Management Center congratulates Dr. Ng Kim Hoong from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for publishing the review article entitled TiO2 and ZnO photocatalytic treatment of palm oil mill effluent (POME) and feasibility of renewable energy generation: A short review on 7 June 2019 in the SCI Tier 1 journal - Journal of Cleaner Production. This journal has an Impact Factor of 6.395 and ranked 18/250 in the category “Environmental Sciences” according to Journal Citation Report 2018. The review was the collaborative efforts of Dr.
