XMUM Team Named 1st Runner-Up at Eastspring Business Challenge 2025
The XMUM Alpha Team from the School of Economics and Management was named 1st Runner-Up in the prestigious Eastspring Business Challenge 2025, held on 26 April at Level 22, Menara Prudential, TRX. The event gathered students from over 60 universities across the region to pitch innovative strategies for recruiting young unit trust consultants for Eastspring Investments.
Dr. Faizah Shahudin My Greatest Asset is My Students
Dr. Faizah Shahudin is the Deputy Head of the International Business programme at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), and a founding member of the School of Economics and Management. Since joining XMUM in 2016 as a part-time lecturer, she has earned widespread recognition for her engaging teaching style and dedication, making her known among students as the warmest lecturer.
Dr. Shi Xiang: A Journey from Medicine to Macroeconomics
Many people choose a single path and follow it without hesitation. Shi Xiang, however, has built his career by taking unexpected turns.From studying clinical medicine at Sun Yat-sen University to pursuing finance at Lingnan College, and later earning a PhD in Economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Shi Xiang has transitioned from wielding a surgical knife to exploring the intricacies of societal systems.

6 XMUM Academics Secure Research Funding by the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme 2023
The Research and Postgraduate Centre extends its congratulations to six XMUM academics who have secured the prestigious grants under the Ministry of Higher Education’s Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS). The six recipients, from School of Electrical Engineering & Artificial Intelligence, School of Energy & Chemical Engineering, China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences, and School of Economics & Management, have collectively been awarded a total of RM 639,946.
