Dr. Chong Sin Er Publishes in SSCI Q1 Journal

The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Asst. Prof. Dr. Chong Sin Er from the School of Economics and Management, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on her recent publication of a research article in Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, an SSCI Q1 journal with the latest impact factor of 2.7 and is ranked A in the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) Journal Quality List.

Dr. Chong is the corresponding author of the article and collaborated with researchers from both Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

The article, entitled “Stimulating Employee Innovation in Hospitality: A Moderated Mediation Model of Work-Related Flow and Proactive Personality”, examines how work-related psychological experiences and individual characteristics can contribute to employee innovation in the hospitality industry. The study investigates the role of work-related flow in stimulating employee innovation and further examines how proactive personality influences this relationship. It highlights the importance of creating work environments that facilitate employees' positive work experiences while recognising individual differences in proactive behaviour. These insights can assist hospitality managers in developing strategies to encourage innovation and enhance employee contributions to organisational performance.

Dr. Chong Sin Er is an Assistant Professor in Management at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). She completed her PhD in Marketing at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Her research interests include marketing, social commerce, e-commerce, and digital consumer behaviour. Her research has been published in SSCI Q1 journals, including Current Issues in Tourism, Journal of Research in Interactive Marketing, and Marketing Intelligence & Planning. She is also an XMUM alumna, holding a Bachelor’s degree in International Business (Hons).
