XMUM Teams Shine in 2026 CCPC Series Contests

Published on June 12, 2026

In May and June 2026, students from Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) achieved a major breakthrough in competitive programming by winning one gold medal and three bronze medals at multiple China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC) National Invitational contests.

This marks the first time XMUM students have received awards in CCPC series.

A total of six students, forming two teams, represented XMUM at the CCPC National Invitationals held in Qinhuangdao, Fuzhou and Guizhou. Both teams were coached by Dr. Li Jing, Assistant Professor at the School of Computing and Data Science.

The China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC) is one of China's most influential programming competitions for university students. It challenges participants to solve complex algorithmic and computational problems under strict time constraints, testing their skills in algorithm design, logical reasoning, mathematical modelling, programming implementation and teamwork.

Since its establishment in 2015, CCPC has become one of the country's leading collegiate programming competitions, attracting top student teams from universities across China and beyond.

In 2025, the Algorithm Contest Interest Group was established under the guidance of Dr. Li Jing and student leader Cui Zeyu to support participation in ICPC and CCPC competitions. The group provides training, team-building opportunities and peer learning platforms for students interested in algorithm and programming contests.
