Celebrating Excellence & Academic Achievement — SCDS Dean’s List Awards Ceremony 25/09
Academic excellence, perseverance and dedication were celebrated at the SCDS (School of Computing and Data Science) Dean's List Award Ceremony 25/09, which was held on 8 May 2026 at Tan Hua Chong Auditorium, Xiamen University Malaysia.
This ceremony brought together students, lecturers, and proud family members to honour the hard work, dedication and perseverance of the recipients. For the 2025/09 semester, a total of 398 students were recognised, including 61 recipients who achieved a perfect GPA of 4.0 and 337 recipients who attained a GPA above 3.7.
The ceremony began with opening speeches delivered by the Deputy Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tee Sim Hui and the advisor of SCDS Student Council, Ms. Heng Yu Ping. Both of them congratulated the award recipients on their remarkable accomplishments and encouraged them to continue striving for success in both their academic and personal journeys.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to the honoured students. Smiles, laughter and proud moments were shared as students walked across the stage to receive recognition for their efforts.
The ceremony first recognised students who achieved a GPA above 3.7 across all programmes. Among the recipients present, there were 32 recipients from Computer Science & Technology (CST), 50 recipients from Software Engineering (SWE), 18 recipients from Digital Media &Technology (DMT), 37 recipients from Cybersecurity (CYS) and 63 recipients from Data Science (DSC), making a total of 200 recipients in attendance for this category.
It followed with the presentation of certificates to students who achieved a perfect GPA of 4.0. This outstanding accomplishment was achieved by 9 recipients from CST, 12 recipients from CYS, 16 recipients from DSC, 5 recipients from DMT and 9 recipients from SWE. In total, 51 recipients were present to receive this prestigious recognition.
The ceremony concluded with a closing speech by Asst. Prof. Dr. Dilshani Hansika Mallikarachchi, who expressed her appreciation to the students for their hard work and determination.
