XMUM Research Publication in Tier-1 SCI Journal in Engineering
The Office of Research and Innovation congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zhang Ying as one of the corresponding authors of a paper entitled “Reduced graphene oxide coated porous carbon–sulfur nanofiber as a flexible paper electrode for lithium–sulfur batteries” in Nanoscale, a tier-1 SCI journal in Engineering. This paper is authored by nine scientists from Xiamen University and Xiamen University Malaysia.The authors stated the significance of their study:

Office of Research and Innovation congratulates Prof. Dr. ZHENG Jin-Cheng for co-authoring a paper entitled “Reversible structure manipulation by tuning carrier concentration in metastable Cu2S” in the 12 September 2017 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS, Vol 114, No 37, 9832-9837), which is one of the world’s most-cited and comprehensive multidisciplinary scientific journals.
XMUM Delegation Visited Universiti Malaysia Terengganu to Explore Academic Cooperation
Upon the invitation of the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Nor Aieni, XMUM President Prof. Wang Ruifang led a delegation to visit UMT on 15 August 2017.Other members of the XMUM delegation consist of Dr Zhang Ying, Assistant President of XMUM, Prof. Ni I-Hsun, Chairman of Marine Biotechnology Programme, and Ms Li Xiaowen, PA to President.

The Office of Research and Innovation congratulates Prof. Dr. Huang Nay Ming as one of the co-corresponding authors of a paper entitled “Piezoresistive Effect in Plasma-Doping of Graphene Sheet for High-Performance Flexible Pressure Sensing Application” in ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, a tier-1 SCI journal in material science. This paper is authored by seven scientists from five different institutions.The authors stated the significance of their study:
XMUM Welcomed the Largest Intake of Foreign Students
XMUM welcomed the largest intake of foreign students since its inception.Students from 20 provinces in China have arrived in Malaysia to embark on their academic journey at this new campus. The number of students stands at 481 currently with around 50 more to come by the end of this week.
At XMUM’s new marine labs, teaching takes a step forward
China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences recently unveiled new laboratories at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). With a total investment of RM17 million, six laboratories, including Microscopy Laboratory, General Chemistry Laboratory, Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, Bioinformatics Laboratory, Cell and Molecular Biology Laboratory, Microbial Laboratory and Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, were officially put into use.
