XMUM Showcases Sustainable Technology Research at NICE 2025
Xiamen University Malaysia, through its Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Technologies for Agricultural Advancement and a Zero-Waste Economy (STARGAZE), took part in the National Innovation and Commercialisation Expo (NICE 2025) from 6 to 9 October 2025.XMUM was the only private university invited to exhibit at the event.

XMUM Researchers Publish Critical Review on Green Solvents in Green Chemistry
A critical review article by Prof. Ir. Dr. Yong Wai Fen, Master's student Voon Boon Kee, and undergraduate student Yap Yen Juin from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), has been published in Green Chemistry, a peer-reviewed journal by the Royal Society of Chemistry (Impact Factor: 9.2, SCIE Q1).
XMUM Team Wins Awards at International Process Control Competition 2025
A team of undergraduate students from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering (SECE), Xiamen University Malaysia, achieved notable success at the International Process Control Competition 2025 (IPCC 2025), held at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) from 22 to 24 August.Team members Sim Jian Hao, Wong Yu Xin, Ng Wei Kang, and Tan Willy, under the guidance of Assistant Professor Dr. Noraini binti Mohd, secured the Second Runner-Up and Best Innovation Awards after an intensive 48-hour hackathon.
XMUM Presents ChemVerse Project at Meta Reality Labs Roundtable on Immersive Learning
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) was invited to participate in a roundtable discussion hosted by Meta Reality Labs, Asia Pacific, along with its partners. The event, held on 24 July 2025 at the Connexion Conference & Event Centre (CCEC), brought together representatives from Meta, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the Ministry of Education (MOE), and other stakeholders from government, academia, and industry to discuss the role of immersive technologies in education and workforce development.
