Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) held its annual Career Fair at People's Great Hall on 28 October 2026, bringing together more than 60 companies with over 1,500 job openings and 1,000 internship opportunities.

Participating employers included local companies such as Gamuda and Maybank, Chinese companies such as Yealink and Alibaba Cloud, and multinational companies such as Lazada and Baker Tilly, representing sectors including finance, information technology, retail and engineering.

The fair attracted students seeking employment and internship opportunities. A student majoring in Finance noted that more finance companies and a wider range of positions were available compared with last year, and hoped to secure an internship to gain practical experience.

Company representatives also introduced their recruitment needs and employee development programmes. A representative from China Logistics Group shared the company's job rotation programme, which allows new recruits to gain experience in different roles before choosing a permanent position.

Yealink, a company founded by an Xiamen University alumnus, participated in the fair for the first time. As the company expands its overseas operations, it is looking for candidates proficient in both Chinese and English for product-related and trade-related roles. Its representative noted that XMUM graduates' experience studying in an English-medium environment makes them suitable candidates for these positions.
