Khairun Nisa Khiruddin Improving Students' Learning Experience with Trivial Works
Joined in 2018, Khairun Nisa Khiruddin has been working for Xiamen University Malaysia for 5 years.

As an Academic Coordinator, Nisa has provided academic support for several undergraduate programmes, including Digital Media Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering and Electrical and Electric Engineering.
Her works are trivial but essential: Arranging students' study plans and course plans for each semester, dealing with the affairs related to the graduating students, and coordinating among lecturers and students - which are “far from as easy as it seems”.
Sometimes, she would also be given too short a time to deal with all kinds of emergency situations. For example, if a lecturer leaves suddenly within two weeks before the start of a semester, she needs to find a new lecturer as a replacement.
"Students can hardly be aware of the enormous pressure and challenges of my work, " she said.
When COVID-19 broke out, Nisa's work shifted from offline to online, but with more workload than before. She and her colleagues tried their best to reduce the chances of students' academic misconduct during online exams. She also tried to keep contact between students and lecturers, listen to their demands, and establish a good relationship between them.
With the full resumption of physical class, all of Nisa’s works are now moved offline. An employee with five years’ experience, she remains her very first enthusiasm, helping students resolve difficulties in both their studies and daily life.
"I like my work very much - I like the feeling of communicating with others, which makes me like my work very much,” said Nisa, "Talking with lecturers has benefited me a lot while speaking with students has made me feel much younger."
“My plan is to be at my best with my current tasks while learning some leadership skills to train my fellow colleagues. Also, I want to enhance my communication ability, giving my lecturers and students a better information acquisition experience.”
