Biography

Cheryl Xiaoning Long is a Cheung Kong Scholar professor at Xiamen University and a co-editor at China Economic Review. Her main research interests are law and economics and economic analysis of institutions. She has published in international journals including Journal of Law and Economics, Journal of Public Economics, and Journal of International Economics, and is a co-author of the book "Foreign Direct Investment in China: Winners and Losers." Dr. Long was a recipient of the Peikang Chang Research Award in Development Economics (2016) and was a Glenn Campbell and Rita Ricardo-Campbell National Fellow at Hoover Institution, Stanford University (2005-2006). Dr. Long obtained a BS in management from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1993, an MA in international economics from University of International Business and Economics in 1996, and a Ph.D. in economics from Washington University in St. Louis in 2001. And she taught at Colgate University between 2001 and 2011
