Biography
Dr. MohammadMahdi Ariannejad is an Assistant Professor at the School of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Xiamen University Malaysia. He earned his Ph.D. in Photonics Engineering from the University of Malaya in 2019 and his M.Sc. in Microelectronics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2013.
Dr. Ariannejad is a registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), a Graduate Member of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), a Member of the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), and a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
He began his research career as a Research Assistant at the Photonics Research Centre, University of Malaya, in 2015. He has authored and co-authored over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals, international conferences, and book chapters. His research expertise spans optical soliton communications, laser physics, photonics, nonlinear fiber optics, semiconductors, nanotechnology, solar cell technologies, and micro/nanofabrication processes.
Dr. Ariannejad is also actively involved in multidisciplinary engineering projects, with a strong focus on smart home technologies, electrical engineering systems, smart robotics, and electronics applications. His work emphasizes the integration of intelligent systems, automation, and advanced materials into practical engineering solutions, bridging theoretical innovation with real-world impact.
Since joining Xiamen University Malaysia in March 2020, he has contributed significantly to engineering education and research, particularly in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced electronic systems.
Research Interest
Research interests include photonics and optical communications, particularly in optical soliton transmission, nonlinear fiber optics, and laser physics; semiconductor devices and nanotechnology, with emphasis on nanostructures, micro/nano fabrication, and advanced materials; solar cell technologies, including photovoltaic design, fabrication, and characterization; smart systems and robotics, focusing on smart home automation, embedded systems, and sensor networks; electrical and electronics engineering, covering circuit design, power electronics, and intelligent system integration; and the application of artificial intelligence in engineering, including machine learning, AI-driven control systems, and multidisciplinary innovation.
