XMUM Students Excel at 2022 Mathematical Contest in Modeling

A team of three XMUM students - Tang Jiacheng, Chen Xuanchu and Wang Shuhan - won Finalist Award at the 2022 Mathematical Contest in Modeling/Interdisciplinary Contest in Modelling (MCM/ICM), the most influential mathematical modeling contest in the world held by the Consortium of Mathematics and Its Application (COMAP).
This year, eleven teams of XMUM undergraduate students participated in the contest, receving one Finalist award, two Honorable Mention awards and six Successful Participant awards.

The 2022 MCM/ICM has attracted a total of 27,205 teams from universities all over the world including University of Oxford, Columbia University, Tsinghua University, etc. During the contest, participants are required to answer the problems by applying unique mathematical modeling skills in teams of three.
