Guangdong Chinese Orchestra and XMUM Yanan Chinese Orchestra Club Engage in Chinese Folk Music Exchange
On 11 December 2024, the Guangdong Chinese Orchestra visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and conducted a series of activities focused on Chinese folk music exchange.The event was hosted by Ms. Huang Jianzhen, the Director of XMUM Art Troupe. She warmly welcomed the Guangdong Chinese Orchestra and briefly introduced the background of the XMUM Yanan Orchestra Club. The event was carried out in three parts:First, XMUM Yanan Orchestra Club performed two songs: “Transporting Goods to and from the Mountain” (挑山) and “Fisherman’s Song” (渔歌).

XMUM Student Unveils Campus Micro Marvels through Insect Photography
At Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), the diverse campus environment is home to many small creatures that often go unnoticed. For Tan Ling Zi, a first-year student in New Energy Science and Engineering, these tiny beings are the subjects of his passion for insect photography. Through his lens, Ling Zi captures the often-overlooked life around him, from butterflies flitting through the campus to the quiet activity of insects in the grass. His photos reveal a hidden side of the campus, one that showcases the subtle beauty of nature in everyday spaces.
XMUM Staff Awarded Public-Private Research Network Grant 2024
