XMUM Physics Student Publishes in Physical Review D
The Center for Postgraduate Studies and Research congratulates Yang Ziou and Associate Professor Dr. Lim Yen Kheng from XMUM Department of Physics for the recent article published in Physical Review D, a Q1 journal with a latest impact factor of 5.407.
2nd XMUM Cup Physics Competition Successfully Held
The Second XMUM Cup Physics Competition for Secondary Schools was held on 8 September 2021, with 685 participants from 39 secondary schools across the country.The top five studentsare Ku Yu Cong from Chong Hwa Independent High School Kuala Lumpur, Harry Lau Jun Xian from Foon Yew High School Johor Bahru, How Yen Qi from Pay Fong Middle School Melacca, Samuel Koh Qi En from Sabah Chinese High School, and Yeo Guan Wei from Chung Hua Independent High School Klang.

XMUM Cup Physics Competition for Secondary School Successfully Held
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has successfully organized the first XMUM Cup Physics Competition for Secondary School in November 2020.With the purposes of stimulating Malaysian students’ curiosity in fundamental science and arousing their interests in physics, the Competition has attracted 526 participants from 30 schools across the country.The Competition integrates numerical calculation with interactive visual experiments, which ask students to collect data with the visual apparatus so as to obtain the correct answer.
New Physics Lab to Improve Students’ Learning
On May 8th, the General Physics Laboratory was officially opened and made accessible to the students of XMUM.The laboratory, with a total investment of RM1 million and 6 months of preparation work, is built to serve the purpose of both teaching and research. Experiments in the four major branches of physics, including mechanics, wave and oscillations, optics and electromagnetism, can be conducted here.
