Physics Undergraduates Intern at University of Gdańsk, Poland with Student Exchange Program
Two third-year students from Physics programme, Xiamen University Malaysia, are enjoying their internship at University of Gdańsk, Poland, under the inaugural Research Internship Student Exchange Program.This program was initiated by Department of Physics, Xiamen University Malaysia and Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, University of Gdańsk, in January 2023, allowing students from both departments to do a research internship at the other university and enrich their global experience.

After spending years on research and teaching in Poland, Austria and Singapore, Prof. Tomasz Paterek relocated to Malaysia and started working as the sixth full-time staff at the Department of Physics, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), in March 2022.
3rd XMUM Cup Physics Competition for Secondary School Successfully Held
The 3rd XMUM Cup Physics Competition for Secondary School has been organized successfully on 1 September 2022. 896 participants from 41 schools nationwide took part in the event.The competition was held by XMUM Department of Physics, with the purposes of stimulating students' curiosity and enthusiasm in fundamental science, inspiring them to think logically and scientifically, as well as discovering their talents and passion in physics.
XMUM Physics Student Publishes in Physical Review D
The Center for Postgraduate Studies and Research congratulates Yang Ziou and Associate Professor Dr. Lim Yen Kheng from XMUM Department of Physics for the recent article published in Physical Review D, a Q1 journal with a latest impact factor of 5.407.
2nd XMUM Cup Physics Competition Successfully Held
The Second XMUM Cup Physics Competition for Secondary Schools was held on 8 September 2021, with 685 participants from 39 secondary schools across the country.The top five studentsare Ku Yu Cong from Chong Hwa Independent High School Kuala Lumpur, Harry Lau Jun Xian from Foon Yew High School Johor Bahru, How Yen Qi from Pay Fong Middle School Melacca, Samuel Koh Qi En from Sabah Chinese High School, and Yeo Guan Wei from Chung Hua Independent High School Klang.
