Dr. Kim Yun Jin Receives RM180K Grant from ALPS Global Holdings Bhd for Innovative TCM and Biotechnology Research in Alzheimer’s Disease

Recently, Xiamen University Malaysia received funding totaling RM180,000 from ALPS Global Holdings Bhd for research aimed at combating Alzheimer’s disease. The grant will support a study exploring the combined effects of electroacupuncture and stem cell therapy on neurodegeneration and cognitive function in a rat model.The research seeks to investigate innovative approaches that integrate traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with stem cell therapy, potentially paving the way for new treatment options for individuals affected by cognitive decline.

The tour, organized by the hospital’s Department of Science and Education, offered the students a unique educational experience, deepening their understanding of human anatomy through the use of advanced life sciences technology.

More than 60 presenters from 14 countries attended, underscoring the event’s global reach.
