XMUM Wins Second Prize at the 9th China Students Service Outsourcing Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition
The Office of Research and Innovation congratulates the XMUM student team from the Software Engineering Programme for winning Second Prize at the 9th China Students Service Outsourcing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition held on 30 May - 1 June 2018 at Wuxi city, Jiang Su Province, China. The team was supervised by Prof Dr Lin Juncong from the School of Software, Xiamen University, China. A total of more than 5,000 teams participated in the competition. The XMUM team, ranked top 5%, was shortlisted to enter the final phase of the competition.
50 XMUM Students Go Back to XMU China for Study Tour during April Semester Break
During the April semester break, 50 undergraduate students from XMUM Chinese Studies, Journalism and Marine Biotechnology programmes went to Xiamen University China (XMU), the parent university of XMUM, for one-week student exchange projects.The projects were designed to enhance the students’ academic aptitude and deepen their understanding of Xiamen University tradition and Chinese culture.Marine Biotechnology Programme: A Tour of Research.
Associate Principal of University of Strathclyde Meets XMUM Students
Prof. Douglas Brodie,the Associate Principal & Executive Dean of University of Strathclyde, Glasgow (UoS), together with his colleague Prof. Maozu Lu, the Director of Strathclyde China Institute and Business School of UoS, visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 21st May 2018 and introduced the pathway into the master programme of UoS to XMUM students.
XMUM President Gives a Speech at China-Japan University President Summit Forum
On 13th May 2018, Prof. Wang Ruifang, President of Xiamen University Malaysia was invited as a guest speaker to give a speech on Challenges and Opportunities Faced by Xiamen University Malaysia: the Pioneer of Chinese University Overseas Campus in China-Japan University President Summit Forum.
XMUM and Dublin Business School Sign MOU on 3 May 2018
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and Dublin Business School (DBS) on 3 May 2018.The signing ceremony was conducted during a visit by Prof. Andrew Conlan-Trant, Executive Dean of Dublin Business School, to XMUM. Prof. Conlan-Trant and his team were warmly welcomed by XMUM President Prof. Wang Ruifang and other members of the university top management.
XMUM Signs MOU with Australian National University on Academic Collaboration
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and Australian National University (ANU) on 25 April, 2018.The signing ceremony was conducted during a delegation visit led by Prof. Shirley Leitch, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of ANU, to XMUM. The delegation was warmly welcomed by XMUM President Prof. Wang Ruifang and other members of the university top management team.
