University of Queensland Representatives Share Further Study Options with XMUM Students
Ms Maj Coop, University of Queensland (UQ) Regional Manager of Southeast Asia for the Faculty of Business, and Ms Wai Yen Chan, UQ Country Manager for Malaysia and Brunei, visited XMUM on 2 October 2018 to introduce various further study options to interested XMUM students. Ranking number 1 in South East Asia and 16th in the world, the University of Queensland Faculty of Business offers a variety of postgraduate programme. Among the programmes are Economics, Business, Entrepreneurship, Management, Finance, Commerce.
869 New Students Join XMUM in October 2018
869 new students joined the undergraduate programmes of Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) and started their academic journey on 1 October 2018.The total number of students at XMUM has now reached 4,050, including over 40% international students from 22 different countries and regions, such as China, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Zambia, Turkmenistan, Korea, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Japan, Myanmar, Syria, Kazakhstan, India, Pakistan, Algeria, Somalia, Tajikistan.
XMUM Research Publication in Nanoscale – A Tier-1 SCI Journal
The Office of Research and Innovation congratulates Associate Professor Dr. Zhang Ying on her role as one of the corresponding authors of a publication entitled “Ultrafine Mo-doped SnO2 nanostructure and derivative Mo-doped Sn/C nanofibers for high-performance lithium-ion batteries.” The paper was published on 28 August 2018 (vol. 10 and pages 17378-17387) in Nanoscale, a high impact, peer reviewed journal publishing experimental and theoretical work across the breadth of nanoscience and nanotechnology. XMUM Publication in Top Journal, Energy & Environmental Science (EES), with an Impact Factor of 30.067
The Office of Research and Innovation congratulates Professor Dr. Zheng Jin-Cheng on his recent publication entitled “Empowering multicomponent cathode materials for sodium ion batteries by exploring three-dimensional compositional heterogeneities.” The paper was published online on 25 June 2018 (vol. 11 and pages 2496-2508) in Energy & Environmental Science, which is a leading international journal for the publication of extraordinarily high quality, agenda-setting research relating to energy conversion and storage, alternative fuel technologies and environmental science.

Dr Kim Yun Jin Receives Malaysian Society of Neurosciences Grant
The Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN) has awarded Assistant Professor Dr Kim Yun Jin from School of Traditional Chinese Medicine a grant to attend an education program that emphasizes on the fundamentals of nerve conduction studies. Dr Kim receives also a second grant from MSN to present his research entitled “Meralgia Paresthetica Treatment with Acupuncture: A Case Series” in the 2018 MSN Annual Scientific Meeting & Asian and Oceanian Myology Centre (AOMC).
