New Cohort Embarks on Their TCM Journey at February Orientation
On 13 February 2025, the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (STCM) welcomed 13 new students from the 2025/02 intake in a dedicated orientation event.The event commenced with opening remarks from Prof. Chen Shaodong, Dean of STCM, and Dr. Lim Chee Hoong, STCM Student Union Advisor, who extended their heartfelt welcome and encouragement. Dr. Chep Lee Lu Siang, Head of Programme, introduced the faculty and key academic guidelines, ensuring that new students have a clear understanding of their curriculum.
White Coat Ceremony Marks New Chapter for TCM Students
On 18 January 2025, the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (STCM), Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) successfully hosted the 7th White Coat Ceremony, a solemn and meaningful event dedicated to the Class of 2102 and 2104 (15th and 16th Cohorts) TCM students who are set to embark on their clinical internships at Xiamen University’s affiliated hospitals.
Prof. Chen Shaodong Publishes New Book on Classical and Modern TCM Clinical Practices
Prof. Chen Shaodong from the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Xiamen University Malaysia has edited and published a new book titled Synopsis of the Golden Chamber: Clinical Reasoning in Practice(金匮要略临证思维). This book blends classical TCM with modern clinical practices, offering readers valuable insights into diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. Through a series of clinical case studies, it emphasizes the practical application of TCM principles, providing actionable strategies for diagnosis and treatment based on classical Chinese medical theory.
TCM Students Publish Book Chapter on Eco-Friendly Nanoparticles for Cancer Treatment
Two students from the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Kai Lee Yee and Angel Yong Hua Ong, have contributed a book chapter titled Eco-friendly Nanoparticle Synthesis for Cancer Treatment: A Sustainable Healthcare Approach in the newly published book Sustainable Pharmaceutical Product Development and Optimization Processes: From Eco-Design to Supply Chain Integrity, by Springer Nature.
School of Traditional Chinese Medicine Conducts First Practical and Clinical Examinations
In line with the accreditation standards set by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Xiamen University Malaysia held its first official Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE) and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
TCM Students Visit Eu Yan Sang Pharmaceutical Factory
On 16 December 2024, 29 students from Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2021/02 and 2021/04 intake), along with two graduate students from Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine, visited the Eu Yan Sang Pharmaceutical Factory in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The visit was led by Dr. Chep Lee Lu Siang.
